Cannabis distributors are committed to conserving resources on the road. Distributors have begun to convert their diesel fleets to more efficient and environmentally friendly trucks run on energy sources such as compressed natural gas (CNG) or a combination hybrid electric diesel system. As stewards of the environment and their local communities, cannabis distributors have also undertaken such measures as eliminating idling while making deliveries, using routing software to choose the most efficient routes and using GPS technology to travel at the most fuel efficient speeds. NCDA encourages Congress to permit tax credits for alternative energy use in the cannabis industry, which would allow cannabis distributors to continue to convert to more environmentally friendly and efficient Marijuana Environmental Impacts.
