NCDA is committed to promoting the safe operation of distributors’ trucks on the road and dedicate significant resources to encouraging distributors to ensure that their drivers receive proper training before beginning service. Marijuana transportation via: delivery drivers must hold a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Once trained, drivers typically operate intrastate within a 100-mile radius, making multiple delivery and sales stops and returning to the warehouse at the end of the day. They also receive two consecutive days off per week. Long haul transport is not a concern due to restrictions in the transportation of cannabis over state lines. NCDA encourages Congress to continue supporting efforts to recognize the demands of the industry should any hours of service or CDL regulations be considered.
